About Us!
The Bansa Project is a volunteer-led cultural initiative with a mission to promote and preserve Filipino heritage and arts. Through contemporary and culturally significant apparel as our flagship of representation, we strive to create meaningful connections between people, Filipino culture, and educational efforts.
Our work extends beyond apparel, with Bansa Project: Education leading the way in developing and sharing resources that deepen understanding and appreciation of Filipino arts, history, and traditions.
Driven by a commitment to authentic cultural representation, The Bansa Project aims to empower communities and celebrate the richness of Filipino identity through creative and educational initiatives.
Our Mission
To promote and preserve Filipino heritage and arts. Using apparel as the flagship of representation, the Bansa Project wants to create meaningful connections between people, Filipino apparel, education, and culture.
Our Vision
To connect communities to Filipino heritage and culture through culturally significant apparel and education, fostering pride, understanding, and representation within the Filipino Diaspora.
Our Values
Pag-ibig [pahg-eebig] (Love)
Filipinos deeply value close family bonds and tight-knit communities, with love shaping their relationships. Known for their warmth, they express love through kindness, generosity, and care. This love also embodies the resilience of the Filipino spirit, especially in the face of adversity or when far from home.
Bansa [buhn-sah] (Land)
The Philippines' natural beauty and rich history evoke pride and belonging, symbolizing identity and heritage. Its diverse landscapes shape cultural traditions, art, and lifestyle. For the Diaspora, the land represents both a physical place and a deep emotional and spiritual connection to their roots.
Katawan [ka-ta-wan] (Human)
Filipino culture places great importance on respect and dignity, which are evident in social interactions and community life. This emphasis fosters unity and solidarity among Filipinos worldwide, highlighting their shared humanity and experiences. It also reflects a common pursuit of personal growth and a better life, resonating deeply with the Diaspora.
Kapayapaan [ka-pah-yah-pah-ahn] (Peace)
Peace is a cherished Filipino value, symbolizing harmony within communities and the nation. Given the country's history of conflict, the pursuit of peace is vital for personal and national growth. For the Diaspora, peace reflects a longing for stability and a better future for their families, both at home and abroad.

What is The Bansa Project?
The Bansa Project, founded by Jared Floirendo, promotes and preserves Filipino heritage through apparel and education. By incorporating traditional elements like the Baybayin script into modern designs, Bansa Apparel fosters cultural connections, while Bansa Education develops and shares resources on Filipino culture. Key initiatives include a partnership with the Philippine Eagle Foundation, a new collection featuring the endangered eagle, and a focus on advocacy and education through online platforms. Bansa Apparel is dedicated to preserving heritage, while Bansa Education promotes cultural understanding and awareness. The project’s launch was made possible by a pivotal conversation with Jessica, an admissions officer at EdX, whose bright, positive, and encouraging personality gave Jared the confidence to pursue his creative path. Thanks Jessica!
