Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)
Do I have to be Filipino to order?
The Bansa Project is obviously Filipino-specific in terms of it’s branding, but in no way is it specifically only for Filipinos. The Bansa Project takes the concepts, ideas, teachings, and values Filipinos stand for, and expresses them through clothing. If you have any questions, please, never hesitate to reach out! Remember, The Bansa Project is “Filipino apparel for all”.
What does the Circle in the logo mean?
In our logo, it features a circle with two lines running through it in an abstract way. What the circle represents is The Bansa Project's visual interpretation of the Earth and Land. The Philippines' natural beauty and rich history evoke pride and belonging, symbolizing identity and heritage. Its diverse landscapes shape cultural traditions, art, and lifestyle. For the Diaspora, the land represents both a physical place and a deep emotional and spiritual connection to their roots.
What sets our brand apart?
The Bansa Project stands out by blending tradition with modern times. We are not just a clothing brand; we are a cultural movement. Each piece we create is a testament to the richness of Filipino heritage, designed using the traditional Baybayin script and infused with values that resonate deeply within the Filipino community. By combining our commitment to sustainable practices with our passion for cultural representation, The Bansa Project offers apparel that tells a story — one that connects the past with the present and carries forward the spirit of the Filipino people. Our brand is a bridge between heritage and the contemporary world, making Filipino culture accessible and relevant to all.
What is Baybayin?
Baybayin [bajˈbajɪn] is a pre-Hispanic script that was primarily used in the Philippines from around the 14th century until the Spanish colonization in the 16th century. The script is part of a larger group of scripts known as Brahmic scripts, which originated in ancient India and spread throughout Southeast Asia.
Historical Context:
Baybayin was widely used in the Tagalog-speaking regions of the Philippines before Spanish colonization. It was used in various forms of communication, including official documents, personal letters, and inscriptions. The script declined in use after the Spanish colonizers imposed the Latin alphabet and their own writing system. In recent years, there has been a revival of interest in Baybayin as part of cultural heritage and identity.
How is the Bansa Project sustainable?
The Bansa Project embraces the Filipino value of "take only what you need" by producing items only after customer orders are placed. At The Bansa Project, we are committed to sustainability and ethical practices by utilizing a made-to-order model. This approach minimizes waste, ensures responsible production, and allows us to create high-quality, meaningful products that honor Filipino culture while reducing our environmental impact.
